Women unsatisfied with the size or shape of their breasts often choose to undergo a breast augmentation. This can help you achieve a larger breast size, symmetrical breasts, or restore the size and shape of the breasts to what they were pre-pregnancy and nursing. Drs. Rosenberg and Lambruschi have performed numerous breast augmentations that give patients confidence-boosting, fuller breasts. “I had a wonderful experience at Valley Plastic Surgery! Dr Lambrushi preformed a breast augmentation on me, and I absolutely love the results! Everyone that I know recommend Dr Lambrushi for plastic surgery and I now know why. He has wonderful bedside manner with a little humor thrown in, which really put me at ease. He was always on time for all of my appointments and my surgery date. Dr Lambrushi was also extremely accessible after my surgery, telling me to call if I had any issues at all. I did call with a question and he spoke with me right away, and he treated me with kindness and compassion (even though looking back I had called about something foolish). I also have nothing but praise for the staff at Valley Plastic Surgery! Everyone there has wonderful customer service, from the first time I called to book an appointment I’ve been impressed. On the day of my surgery I arrived and was immediately taken back and made comfortable. I’m so used to a hospital experience, that when I was at Valley Plastic Surgery I felt like a VIP! I have and will continue to refer people to Valley Plastic Surgery! LOVED DR LAMBRUSHI!!!” -Amber P*
How Are Breast Augmentations Performed?
Your surgeon will begin your breast augmentation by making one of the following incisions, depending on the size and shape of your breasts:
- Trans-axillary approach is when the surgeon makes the incision in the armpit
- Infra-mammary approach will be when the surgeon makes an incision in the crease below the breasts
- Peri-areolar approach is when the surgeon makes an incision where the dark-skin of the areola meets the natural skin
Once the incision has been made, the surgery will continue with the skin being pulled away from the muscle and tissue to allow for the insertion of the silicone implant, which is then filled with a saline solution until your ideal size is reached. The implant will be centered below the nipple in order to achieve the natural appearance of the breast. After 1 to 3 hours, the incision is then closed with sutures and the area is bandaged.
I never really had any breasts to speak of and it always bothered me. I was worried that the implants would look very fake. But it turned out fantastic! He did an amazing job and I couldn’t be happier! Honestly it turned out better than I could have imagined, and I would definitely recommend Valley Plastic Surgery Center!”*
What To Expect After Your Breast Augmentation
The bruising and swelling that commonly appears after breast augmentations, specifically around the nipples, will subside over a 3 to 5 week period. A surgical bra is usually required to hold the breasts while they heal, and Drs. Rosenberg and Lambruschi often prescribe antibiotics or pain medication for possible infections and discomfort. Normal activity may resume around the 2-week period; however, the breasts should not be stimulated and strenuous activity should not take place for 4 weeks.
