Liposuction is a great way to remove fat deposits that are resting on the hips, thighs, arms, abdomen, or buttocks that won’t budge with any amount of diet and exercise. Our surgeons want to remind you that liposuction is not a substitute for a healthy, active lifestyle, but it can aid in ridding your body of the excess fat. This procedure gives our patients a sleek, rejuvenated body, and can be done in conjunction with many other procedures. For more information about liposuction, call Drs. Rosenberg and Lambruschi at Valley Plastic Surgery Center at 847-836-3200.

5 star 5 Stars. I had worked at hospitals before I went to Dr. Rosenberg for surgical needs. My first surgery was on my hand. You can’t really see it. Also had Liposuction in several different places and he is the King of Liposuction.” W. Whitten”*

How is Liposuction Performed?

Drs. Rosenberg and Lambruschi begin this procedure by making an incision an inconspicuous skin fold, to reduce scarring, and then a canula is inserted in the skin. This hollow-tube will suck out the excess fat deposits. Sometimes our surgeons will remove the fat from the tissue before inserting the canula, and a new technique allows water to be drained into the area to force the fatty cells to break from the tissue. The length of this procedure will be dependent on the amount of fat being removed and the areas being treated.

“Awesome people!!! Very professional, knowledgeable, caring folks. Took great care of me and were there for me every step of the process.” Kristin F.*

What to Expect After Liposuction?

Before embarking on your journey with liposuction, take time to become comfortable with your surgeon as this procedure can have more serious side effects. These side effects can include the following, but not commonly:

  • Infections which should be treated immediately
  • Embolism is when fat becomes trapped in a blood vessel and can plug the way to lungs or brain
  • Visceral Perforations is when the canula accidentally punctures an internal organ the surgeon was unable to see
  • Fluid Imbalance can affect the lungs, kidney or heart as the excessive fluid removal throws off the fluid balance
  • Skin problems such as swelling of the skin above the treated area, that can lead to the skin dying and sloughing off

How Much does Liposuction Cost?

The cost of this procedure is dependent on the amount of fat being removed and the number of areas being treated. All surgeries and procedures are performed at our surgery center, rather than an outside facility. We do this in order to be more cost effective for our patients, while maintaining the highest standards of quality and control. With your complimentary consultation at our facility, a price can be determined after meeting with a surgeon.
